Kabir missed his regular train on a rainy night and sat alone at the deserted station. Just before midnight, an old black train arrived without making a sound. Its destination board displayed a single word: Yesterday.
Curious, Kabir stepped inside.
Every passenger seemed lost in thought. An elderly woman held a child's toy, a businessman stared at an old photograph, and a young man whispered an apology to an empty seat.
A conductor approached Kabir. “This train takes people to the moment they wish they could change,” he explained. “But nobody can stay forever.”
Suddenly, Kabir noticed his younger sister sitting near the window. She looked exactly as she had on the day she died in an accident three years earlier.
He rushed toward her, desperate to warn her about that terrible afternoon. But she smiled and said, “You cannot change yesterday, brother. You can only stop punishing yourself for it.”
Kabir remembered how he had blamed himself for not answering her final phone call. Tears filled his eyes.
The train slowed. His sister held his hand and whispered, “Live the life we both dreamed about.”
When Kabir opened his eyes, he was back on the ordinary station platform. Morning sunlight touched his face.
For the first time in three years, he called his mother and told her he was ready to move forward.
The mysterious train never returned, but its message stayed with him: yesterday cannot be changed, yet tomorrow is still ours.
